Idealy, read "Project for a New American Century". But unfortunately, the web site for the project has been removed from the internet. However, Wikipedia has a copy of the Project on their site at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project...erican_Century

One item of particular interest is the signers of the document. This group includes the brother of the president, the Vice President, members of the Department of Defense and others.

Check it out.

more next time.

Obama is close to clenching the nomination. But it does not matter whether Obama or Clinton wins. There will be a very negative race awaiting the winner. Either race or gender.

My home town was hit by a tornado on May 10. My mother had recently taken a buyout offer from the government and moved to Commerce, Oklahoma.

There were various reports of dead. The final count seems to be 13.

Many have been injured.

The force of the tornado is not yet known. It was however at least a 3. But at times could have reached 4 or 5.

All can agree that when the very bark of trees is stripped by the wind, that it is a powerful force.

Peace and good health to all

Take advantage of this unprecedented opportunity to see and hear a brand new Charles Babbage Difference Engine in action. Join us in discussion with Nathan Myhrvold, who commissioned the building of this engine, and Doron Swade, who built the first Babbage Engine in 1991 from Babbage's original plans.

Exhibited for the first time in North America, this Babbage Difference Engine No. 2, the second of only two ever built, is a stunning display of Victorian mechanics and an arresting spectacle of automatic computing. The Engine consists of 8,000 parts of bronze, cast iron and steel, weighs five tons and measures eleven feet long and seven feet high.

Charles Babbage (1791-1871) is known as the visionary innovator whose designs for his vast mechanical calculating engines rank as one of the startling achievements of the 19th century. Babbage’s Difference Engine No. 2, designed in the 1830’s, but never built, is monumental in logical conception, physical size, and intricacy.

Join Myhrvold and Swade as they discuss Charles Babbage, the importance of his work, and why they are passionate about bringing this startling display of elegant design and inspired engineering to the world.

A long time acquaintance of mine is the, Kevin Yank, Editor of SitePoint Tribune. The tribune is an eMail newsletter sent to several hundred thousand members of www.sitepoint.com. In the early days of sitepoint.com, I participated as an "advisor", providing hints and tips to assist developers with mysql, php and html problems. The following is a major portion of his editorial concerning an article submitted to digg. But I include it here because the same factors apply to www.noevalley.com, the forums and the blogs.

As Kev points out, we can become a vibrant community.

   Getting Dugg

I wrote an article last week titled "Forget Trump, 8 Business Lessons From The Governor's Hooker." One of the guys in the office suggested it was Digg-worthy and submitted it to Digg. The article received a grand total of just 12 Diggs, so it didn't exactly take Digg by storm and result in a torrent of traffic.
You see the thing with Digg, and any social medium, is you really need to be part of the community. You need to be contributing on a regular basis, you need to know the vibe, and you need to understand how these things work.
If you're looking to benefit from the many ways that social media can benefit you, you need to get involved. Don't wait until it's too late -- get involved now and start the process of being an authentic and valued member of the community today.
Most Digg fans tell me the best thing I could have had was a Friends list on Digg to contact about my article -- if I had a lot of friends who all Dugg my story quickly, my article would have stood a far greater chance of success.
We all know how to make friends, right? Spend time with them, contribute to their success, and play nice --become part of their community.
